Back to NavigationShrewsbury House Nursing Home is a family run private residential Nursing Home. The home was founded in 1958 by the present matrons parents. The home has always been a family run business and the continuity from having three different generations working and running the home together is a major benefit for residents and their families.
The nursing home is staffed by a highly trained team of nurses and carers. The low staff turnover insures that the residents are familiar with everyone working in the home.
Recreation
We have an activities coordinator who provides sonnas, bingo, arts and crafts, games, exercise classes, reminisce therapy, hand massage and Body massage. We have regular musical days and sing-a-long sessions. The newspapers are delivered daily. We have regular parties for residents birthdays and special occasions, friends and relatives are always made welcome.
Dinning - Always fresh and varied
Our kitchen serves a great selection of food with variety and freshness. All our meals are prepared daily and there is always a choice. Our Chef prepares home baking daily.
Special diets such as Vegetarian, Coeliac, Renal and Diabetic are always considered.
We have a lovely bright and airy dinning room were all our meals are served except breakfast which is served in bed.
If residents wish they can have their meals served in their own bed room.
Accommodation
We have 36 residents in 12 single, 7 double and 3 multi rooms. Some of our rooms are ensuite with views of our gardens and courtyard.Each room has a Nurse Call Bell and a TV point. Our rooms are designed with the safety and comfort of our residents as the main focus. Residents are encouraged to bring their own personal items to make them feel at home.The gardens have a host of wildlife and the close proximity to Clonliffe College and its grounds provides us with regular visits of squirrels and a wide variety of birds.
